Scott Phillips is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic located in Columbus, Georgia who reviews movies and covers film festivals for Forbes.com in its Hollywood and Entertainment Division. Scott has been publishing film reviews since 1988 when his first review appeared in the Red & Black student newspaper at the University of Georgia. Over this time, he’s honed his craft, offering his opinions on everything from summer blockbusters to indie films to beloved classics.

Prior to his position with Forbes.com, Scott covered the world of film for two regional CBS affiliates: www.wkrg.com (Alabama and Florida) and www.wrbl.com (Georgia). He served as the Executive Editor and Senior Writer for The Movie Isle from the inception of that site in November 2017 until he joined the WRBL News Team in September 2019. From 2013 through 2017, Scott reviewed films for Film Dispenser.com. His work also appears in each issue of Columbus and the Valley Magazine where he writes about a variety of film-related topics.

Scott co-founded the Midnight Train Film Festival which focuses on the art of short films. He previously served as the Content Programmer for the Way Down Film Festival held at the historic Springer Opera House in Columbus, Georgia, from 2016-2018. In September 2016, he founded the Way Down Film Society which met every month at Troy University in Phenix City, Alabama before the COVID pandemic caused the group to disband.

Kevin Allen has been a Tennessee-based film critic since graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a degree in Cinema Studies in 2011. Matt Brunson is an award-winning film critic with over 30 years of professional experience. Based in Charlotte, NC, his work can be found on his website Film Frenzy. From 1988 through 2018, he was the sole movie reviewer for Charlotte's alternative newsweekly Creative Loafing. It’s of little surprise that Douglas found himself drawn to studying film in undergrad and graduate school after growing up in a household that loved watching movies. Though his professional vocations took him in a myriad of directions, including even all the way to Johns Hopkins University to earn an M.A. in Communications, he’s always found a way to work his love of cinema into his life. Douglas eventually created Elements of Madness (EoM) as a means of keeping busy, but it now serves as a vessel to pour every ounce of geekdom into through reviews of upcoming releases and a monthly Coming Soon series.

Douglas joined the NC Film Critics Association in 2016 and became a Rotten Tomatoes approved individual critic in 2018.

Tony Dayoub is a screenwriter and film critic with a BSC in Motion Pictures from the University of Miami. Currently a film writer, critic, editor John Delia has been on all sides of the movie business from publications to filmmaking throughout the 1980’s-90’s. He has worked as a film critic with ACED Magazine for the past 13 years and has averaged nearly 100 reviews for theatrical and DVD/Blu-ray. John is a member of the Southeastern Film Critics Association. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Florida.

Lindsey Dunn is a film critic from Durham, NC. She believes in the power of stories to change hearts and minds better than any logical argument. She still pinches herself daily that her dream of being a film critic finally came true. In addition to reviewing films, she enjoys interviewing filmmakers and curating movie recommendations for others. Although she enjoys many types of movies, her wheelhouse is classic movies (or those that pay homage to them), suspense, and films in which characters wrestle with faith. Her other interests include mixology, midcentury modern design and architecture, eating homemade popcorn, and listening to podcasts about faith and culture.

Jason Evans has been watching films alongside professional critics since he was in high school. One of the first critic screenings he ever attended was for the film ET. He has written about movies and TV for CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and numerous other publications. His commentary on film can also be heard on several Atlanta radio stations. His specialty is short, to-the-point reviews that get at the most important question his readers need answered: Is this a film that I will enjoy? Felicia Feaster is an award-winning film writer whose work has appeared in The Economist, Elle, New York Press, Playboy, Travel + Leisure, Atlanta magazine, Art in America, TravelChannel.com and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution where she has served as the art critic for the past nine years. Adam Frazier hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, the pimento cheese capital of the world. Keith Garlington is an Arkansas-based film critic and the founder of Keith & the Movies, a website he began in 2009 which now features over 1,000 of his reviews along with countless features, industry articles and commentaries.

Keith is also a contributing film critic for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the state's largest newspaper, and makes guest appearances on the local movie review show Tavern Talk by Initial Reaction.

Adam Long, movie lover extraordinaire, has been mad about the movies since the tender age of four when, in January 1975, his parents took him to see the Irwin Allen disaster film, The Towering Inferno. Adam began writing reviews for his local hometown newspaper, The Lincoln Times, in 2005 before eventually moving on to other endeavors and, eventually, Focus Newspaper, an alt weekly based out of Hickory, NC. Mattie Lucas is a freelance film critic who has been writing film reviews professionally since she was a senior in high school. Her work has been published in print weekly in the Lexington Dispatch since 2004. She founded her own website, From the Front Row, in 2006 where she has been steadily writing reviews ever since. She has also been a staff critic at In Review Online since 2009 and continues to contribute regularly. Thomas Manning is a member of the North Carolina Film Critics Association, and also the co-host of the weekly television show and radio program “Meet Me at the Movies.” He is a regular contributor to Elements of Madness, writing reviews and conducting interviews with various filmmakers from diverse career backgrounds.

Manning has served as a production assistant and voting member on the Film Selection Committee for the Real to Reel Film Festival in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. With Real to Reel, he is the host of “Reel Conversations,” a segment featuring interviews with the filmmakers behind official festival selections.

Since 2019, Manning has worked with the Arts and Faith Ecumenical Film Jury.

Manning has also ventured into filmmaking, working as executive producer and first assistant director on the feature-length documentary “The Dancin’ Bulldogs: A 16 Seed’s Journey to the NCAA Tournament” (2020). This doc tells the story of the 2018-2019 Gardner-Webb Men’s Basketball team, the first men’s basketball team in school history to reach the NCAA Tournament.

Darryl’s love of film firmly took hold in 1994 the first time he watched Jurassic Park (yes, he saw it late). Since then, he’s endeavored to discover more about movies, their inner workings, how they connect with audiences, and dissect what makes a great story. Darryl created Poprika in 2014 as a podcast to discuss all aspects of pop culture: film, television, comics, anime, and gaming. Harrison Martin has always loved cinema. Growing up he spent most of his time talking with friends about movies he'd seen or was going to see. After high school, Harrison attended Gardner-Webb University on a football scholarship where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies: Video & Film. It was there that Harrison's love of movies grew after taking an "Award Winning Films" class taught by fellow SEFCA member Noel T. Manning.

Harrison founded Flixfrog in 2012 while working at Regal Cinemas and working on his International Master of Business Administration. Though he started just reviewing the occasional film, the site has grown since then to include articles, digital content, and much more. Other organizations he is a member of include the AAFCA (African American Film Critics Association), BFCC (Black Film Critics Circle), NCFCA (North Carolina Film Critics Association), and OFCS (Online Film Critics Society).

Karen Martin is a Senior Editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, in charge of the Sunday Perspective (Editorial and Op-Ed pages) as well as a film critic and home video columnist. In 1999, Karen founded the Democrat-Gazette’s MovieStyle section, a dedicated film review section that continues to be published every Friday. She began reviewing film for the Arkansas Gazette in the mid-1980s and is a member of the Alliance of Female Film Journalists. She has served on the screening committees of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and the DOXA Film Festival in Vancouver, B.C. 

Philip Martin is the Chief Film Critic,  Features Editor and a columnist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. 

In 25 years at the Democrat-Gazette, Martin has won more than 50 national and regional prizes for his criticism and columns, including two Green Eyeshade Awards and four Great Plains Journalism Awards. His work has been featured in Newsweek, the Village Voice, New Times and many other publications. In his journalistic career, Martin has been a sportswriter, a criminal investigator, a political columnist, a sports editor, the executive editor of an alternative weekly and a newspaper executive in charge of a small chain. Before that he played a season of professional baseball. He lives in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Little Rock with his wife Karen and three rescued terriers, Paris, Dublin and Audi.

Chris McCoy is the Film/TV Editor for The Memphis Flyer. He has been writing about film professionally since 2001, and also writes travel, science, profiles and general interest articles on a freelance basis. Along with his wife, Laura Jean Hocking, he is the co-owner of the film and video production company Oddly Buoyant Productions. He has directed three feature films, including the award-winning Memphis punk rock documentary Antenna, as well as numerous short films and music videos.

Al McGhee is a film critic at www.yeticket.com. He reviewed films and interviewed many actors, directors, and producers in his as a television host, television producer, film critic, and producer for WLRN Public television in Miami, Fl. Al is a member Southeastern Film Critics Association (SEFCA) and the African America Film Critics Association. In addition, he has acted in many television commercials and on stage, and in films. Al McGhee is a former president of SEFCA. He currently reviews on his website, www.yeticket.com. A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a Master Of Arts degree. As a former University Professor and public school teacher, he has taught young people how to find their goals within themselves—learning how to lead while in the Air Force; he has always believed that a great leader is also a great listener. Michael McKinney graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Film. Michael has worked in television for over 30 years at stations in San Antonio, Dallas, and Atlanta. Ken is a Professor of English at Campbell University. Weaned on Spielberg and matured with Kubrick, Neil Morris has been a freelance film critic since 2002 for various publications, chiefly INDY Week and the Sanford Herald news daily in North Carolina. Dan Murrell is a four-time Emmy nominated film critic and box office analyst who runs his own YouTube channel (Dan Murrell Movies) from his home base in Arkansas. After 10 years of helping to build the Screen Junkies, Honest Trailers, and Movie Fights brands on YouTube as a writer, producer, director, critic, and on-screen personality, Dan left in 2020 to start his own channel, which now has over 100,000 subscribers. A lifelong fan of Star Trek, Steven Spielberg, and movies in general, Dan also does box office analysis weekly, in addition to reviews and entertainment news.

Jesse Nussman is a journalist, podcast host, and film critic living in Atlanta, Georgia. In college, He began to express his love and passion for entertainment by writing as a TV critic at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s school newspaper; The Niner Times, and eventually wrote weekly movie reviews as part of his job as a digital content producer at WCCB. Gino Sassani is a film and television critic based in Tampa, Florida. He's also the Senior Editor of Upcomingdiscs.Com. Gino started reviewing films in the early 1990's as a segment of his local television show Focus. He's an award-winning recording artist for Omega Records working on his 8th album. Working out of his home theater he calls The Reel World, he's written over 3000 reviews since he started with the site in 2000.
