Asheville-based Jill Boniske writes for Chickflix.net. As “Arty Chick,” she covers most of the documentaries, foreign flicks, and indies. The site was chosen as one of the best online by Lifehacker and O magazine. Jill’s early film career began after a year of graduate film school when she moved into production and development, working on features ranging from the cult classic The Toxic Avenger to Sidney Lumet’s Power. Later as a TV writer/producer she wrote for a number of non-fiction series, both in the US and in China. She and her DC-based partner Hannah Buchdahl founded Chickflix.net in 2009 and have been reviewing films and attending festivals ever since.
